Siding installed over a compromised weather barrier looks correct for about three years. We detail the wall assembly properly, then install the finish material you actually want.

Common questions
Fiber cement or vinyl?
Fiber cement holds up better to hail and sun, takes paint well, and looks substantially better on most homes, but it costs more and is heavier to install. Vinyl is cheaper and effectively maintenance free, but it can crack under hail impact and its color options fade over time. On the Front Range specifically, hail exposure pushes a lot of homeowners toward fiber cement or engineered wood.
Can you replace just the damaged section?
Sometimes. Partial replacement works when the existing siding is a current product line and the color still matches, which becomes less likely the older the siding is. We will tell you honestly whether a patch will look like a patch.
Do I need to replace the housewrap too?
If the siding is coming off, yes, in almost every case. Old housewrap is frequently torn, improperly lapped, or missing flashing at the openings. Reusing it to save a few hundred dollars is how you end up doing the job twice.
How long does siding take?
A typical single-family home runs about one to two weeks depending on size, material, and how much substrate repair is uncovered once the old siding is off.
