Why does purified water dry without spots?

Ordinary tap water carries dissolved minerals. When it evaporates the water leaves and the minerals stay, which is the spotting. Deionized water has those minerals stripped out, so there is nothing left behind when it dries. It also means we do not have to squeegee glass we cannot safely reach.

Do you use chemicals on the windows?

Not on exterior glass. The deionized system cleans with water purity alone, so there is no detergent to run off into your landscaping or leave a film that attracts dust. It matters more than it sounds in Denver metro, where the municipal supply runs around 8.5 grains per gallon — cleaning with tap water there deposits fresh minerals every visit.

Can you do exterior only in winter?
